relay station TENT 01 is part of a group of works by artist Karl-Heinz Mauermann. For several years he’s been working on the construction of a [raumzeitmaschine], a vehicle for arbitrary locomotion in all four dimensions. In order to optimise navigation with such a vehicle it is necessary to build up the greatest possible archive of space-time-co-ordinates. To this end, Mauermann designs and builds different types of relay stations, puts them to use and stores the resulting data.

[raumzeitmaschine] is a project by artist Karl-Heinz Mauermann. In 2011, the Dutch artist group MIKC organises a project exploring the question of the future design of human dwellings. Forty-five artists from seven countries show works on urban and stationary living spaces, as well as shelters for modern nomads.

Karl-Heinz Mauermann informs on the basic rules of transcending the borders of space and time, and presents his mobile relay station | tent 01.
